The Namib is our newest release of our Sacred Coat of Armor. This piece represents the attributes of the Namib desert.
Known as “The Living Desert”, the dunes of the Namib abound with desert-adapted beetles, spiders, lizards, gerbils, golden moles and other creatures, all leaving their telltale tracks in the fine sand. It is also known as one of the oldest deserts on our planet.
The plains and dry watercourses of the Namib Desert are home to oryx, springbok, Burchell’s zebra, kudu, ostrich and giraffe. Predators include leopard, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal, Cape and bat-eared foxes, termite-eating aardwolf and African wildcat. More than 114 bird species can be seen in the desert skies.
We named this piece after this special desert because this desert represents the ability to thrive in the face of adversity. Regardless of how much this land scape endures the plants animals and humans who live there face it head on and thrive through it.
The wearer of this piece can embody the strength to carry on with strength and determination through anything that comes their way or crosses their path. They can embody the energy of life. The plants that push through and thrive in the arid climate are a beautiful example of how no matter what our environment is we have the power to push through the hard things and still thrive on the other side. The age of this desert is great and this brings in the ancient ones sacred wisdom to the energy of this piece for the wearer .
